naval gazing for beginners

Apparently there is an issue about press/police/parliamentarian links and cliques.

Nothing else going on from the British media. Anywhere. In the world.

In the meantime this big ol' world keeps spinnin' around and the USA has a major heatwave affecting 33 states.
They also have flooding in Vancouver, Canada.
Huge Category 4 Typhoon Ma-on is heading for Japan, where they already have the small matter of melting reactors, tens of thousands homeless and who know what else.
In Scotland in the last few days floods and landslips have happened in Perth and Inverness.

I'm 20 miles from Inverness and it's chucking it down as I type.

This is the driest place in Scotland.

Climate change IS HAPPENING. The weird weather they promised is HAPPENING.

I don't know if it's man made, the start of a Maunder minimum, a Milankovitch event or a Hollywood movie.

I DON'T CARE!!!!!!!

We need to stop naval gazing and scoring tiny political points on whether someone said may or will. We need to remind scientists that they do science and report what they find. We especially need to remind some to approach it with an open mind or they are certain to find what they are looking for.
It doesn't matter a tuppenny toss that sea level rise has slowed down over the last 8 years. It matters even less whether we face warming or cooling or sod all the kind.
We have crapped on our own doorstep and polluted the only planet we have to such an extent that we have no boltholes left.
We are so fixated on continual growth that we have forgotten we have finite resources.
Money is no longer the root of all evil.
Money is now ALL!!
A certain oil company announced 3 month profits of 10 BILLION dollars.
In the meantime 10 MILLION people are starving in the Horn of Africa.

However, not to worry.

David Cameron employed a journalist who may have been dodgy and everyone else can stand up and say " I told you so" and then we can all go home for tea and muffins!

Alternatively, vote with your feet. Don't buy papers who naval gaze, don't watch crappy news programmes, do get your pens and keyboards busy and annoy your elected representatives by reminding them that's what they are and we can un-elect them just as quick. Do shop sensibly and responsibly. Do keep your food miles down.
Remember, there is no " Deus ex machina" to solve this. There may not be a solution.
All I can do as an individual is my best.
All you can do as an individual is your best.

At lease do that.
